An annual event hosted by the Douglas Student Committee for Academic Life, the Douglas Special Scientific Symposia (D3S) gives a spotlight on the great research being conducted by trainees at the Douglas Research Centre and from the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University. Congratulations to Claudia Belliveau, doctoral student from the laboratory of Dr. Naguib Mechawar for obtaining second prize (long talks) for her presentation entitled, “Perineuronal nets and microglia in the brains of depressed suicides.” Congratulations also to doctoral student from the laboratory of Dr. Gustavo Turecki, Rixing Lin for his presentation entitled, “Profiling global circular RNA expression in human post-mortem brain of individuals with bipolar disorder,” which was recognized in the best short talks category.
